Is your furniture in stock, or do I have to wait for it?

Lane Home Furnishings keeps a massive amount of our furniture in our showroom – in fact, our store has doubled in size and now has both an upper and a lower level. This means that you don’t have to wait on many items. Still, the selection available from our manufacturers is as vast as the tastes and preferences of our customers, so we can’t house it all. If it isn’t in our warehouse, though, we can get it for you quickly.

Are you locally owned?

Yes. Lane Home Furnishings is locally owned. Most of our brands, including Lane, are manufactured by Furniture Brands International. Our local owners place a very high value on customer service and providing the most affordable prices.

Why don’t you show your prices online?

Manufacturer restriction is just one of many reasons we don’t show prices online. Other reasons include constant freight change and the multiplicity of options that are available from our manufacturers. You can be assured, however, that Lane Home Furnishings makes use of its buying power (only full containers get to leave the plant) and its direct-from-the-factory relationships. Our direct-from-the-factory business model provides serious pricing power, and the savings are passed on to you. What is your return policy?

At Lane Home Furnishings, all sales are final at the time of purchase.

How long will I have to wait for special orders?

Your wait time for special orders will vary depending on the manufacturer. Some special orders are received as quickly as a few weeks, but others can take as many as eight weeks. Please contact your sales associate for your specific special-order wait time.

How do I get a special order started?

At the time of your special order, we require a 25% deposit. This deposit is non-refundable once the order is placed. After we receive your furniture, you will need to pay any remaining balance in full upon pick-up or prior to setting up a delivery date.

Where is your furniture made?

It depends on the specific item you’re interested in. Much of the furniture that we carry is made in the US; some is made in Canada and some of it is imported from other parts of the world. You can be certain that no matter the source of our furniture, we make sure we bring in only the best quality at the best possible price.

What is the typical life-span of a mattress?

Most mattress experts suggest that you should replace your mattress every seven to 10 years in order to maintain your optimum sleep levels. Of course, lower-quality mattresses may not last that long, and higher-quality mattresses may last even longer.

What mattress brands do you carry?

We currently stock a large variety of mattresses from Sealy, a Canadian manufacturer. Our mattress collections feature a wide selection of price ranges, along with a variety of mattress types including firm, plush, Euro top, super pillow-top, latex and memory foam mattresses. Whatever your mattress need may be, we are sure to have what is right for you.

What types of accessories do you carry?

We stock hundreds of accessories so you can add that special touch to your home. Just to name a few, we carry lamps, rugs, wall décor, table top décor and comforter sets.

Do you charge for delivery?

We offer a flat rate delivery of $35 for all regular priced items and $60 for clearance items, no matter how many items you are having delivered. Our delivery service includes bringing the furniture into your home, removing all packaging material and assembly of all items. The charge for deliveries outside the St. John’s metro area will vary. Contact any of our sales staff for further information.

Can you ship items all over the country?

Generally we do not ship items outside the island of Newfoundland. We will assist with shipping arrangements to Labrador and to the islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon. We can ship items outside of that radius with the mutual understanding that you are responsible for all shipping costs and any damage that may occur to the furniture during shipping.
